Conditions Rutherford/Sproat

 Went up Rutherford yesterday (Dec 14/2010), pretty bad visibility so we didn't make it too far past the cabin, just before Appa Lake, probed 215cm of snow at 1380m.   Still a lot of obstacles in the way, creeks, trees, boulders lower down but all pretty obvious, didn't hit anything.  About 20cms of new snow ontop of raincrust.

Went up Sproat Dec 13/2010.  Again poor visibility, probed 270 cms at 1700m on a west facing slope.   A couple feet of powder that is getting heavy underneath the raincrust... fine for sledding in, terrible for snowboarding.

The creeks past the cabin are open but once you get in the alpine its like mid winter conditions.

we've had up too a meter blow in the sled zones around here in the last few days. about 50cm at the ski hill . It's been warm, but not up in the alpine.http://biglines.com/photos_large.php?photo_id=53732
