Vanessa's B-day
Vanessa has wanted to climb Mt Currie for years. The snow line was super high but she was determined. It was her birthday so i gave in. I rounded up John j and John B. It was going to be a big day so we started early.

The first part of the hike up went smooth and the usuall bush wack was great thanks to our early season trail maintenance.

We discovered the pemberton snowball factory crossing the avalanche gully.

The next section required crampons and tarzan like manuevers.

We finally hit snow and put the split boards on.
After two hours of icy splitboarding we were stoked to get the crampons back on.

V doing the sketchy traverse.

Dave taking a break halfway up the main shoot.

John J charging up.
The plan was to hike strait up the pencil shoot but the cornice looked huge at the top. We decided to follow the main shoot up to the top shoulder.

Super exposed climb to the summit.

The views from the top.

V getting her birthday turns in.
We ended up doing i line down none of us had done before. The snow was great but we could not see the entire run out from the top. I went first and got cliffed out.To far down to go back up i worked my way down. I ended up having to cross a rock shoot to hit the smallest part of the cliff that ended up being only a 15 foot air out. The rest of the run was full of pillows and super good times. We were not sure if anybody had done this line before (Somebody probably had) but it was V's B-day so she called it "the Fine Line"

The crux to "The Fine Line"

The down climb.

Pemberton 1/2 pipe.

Group B-day photo of the 12 hour mission. Who forgot to bring the beer?
