ERIC SMITH
August 10 1961 - March 19 2000.

Eric Smith was the first person I met in whistler. He picked me up at the bus loop in whistler in the spring of '95. The same day he took me out snowmoboarding for the first time. We went up to a place called Lone Goat. The terrain I rode that day on my snowboard was mind blowing. The best part about it was that it was all snowmobile accessed.
Eric Smith died in an avalanche on March 19th 2000. He was 15 feet down pointing downwards when we dug him out after being under for 20 minutes. All attempts to resuscitate him failed. It was and still is the hardest thing I have ever dealt with in my life. I lost my first friend in Whistler that sunny March day. I will never forget Eric Smith. Rest in peace Eric Smith and thanks for all the good times. I dedicate Cheetah Factory Racing to Eric Smith. - Dave B.

BRETT CARLSON
Dec 22, 1975 - Jane 17, 2000.

I first met Brett the summer of 1999. He was a nice guy with such positive energy. I really wish that I could have had hung out with him more. The last time I saw him was on top of air Jordan on whistler mountain. Air Jordan is a fun 10-foot to 20-foot double drop. I pulled up and Brett was just dropping in. I did not even get a chance to say anything to him. I watched him ski Jordan better then I had ever seen anyone before. The footage is in Heavy Hitting Film Parental Advisory. The movie was dedicated to Brett. He died doing a massive road gap in whistler the next day. Rest in peace Brett you are gone but never forgotten. -Dave B

DARREN CURTIS PROCTOR
May 4 1971 - March 26 2000

I am incredibly fortunate to have known Darren Proctor. He was one of the most genuine people I've known. Although, at times, a little Cloverdale red around the edges, he had the kindest heart inside. Whether it was C.S.M. Procs, Proctor the Love Doctor or Uncle Darren (to his adored nephew Justin), Darren touched a lot of peoples lives.
Proctor loved and excelled at all sports. He was the captain of his kickass hockey team, the Mongolie Grillers, the president of his Whistler snowmobile club and an irreplaceable electrician for Watt Smith (renamed Smith Proctor, in his memory).

Darren Curtis Proctor lived life and enjoyed the life he chose to live. He was loved and is missed by many. Rest In Peace.
